Bingo Caller Script: What to Say Between Calls
A great bingo caller is part announcer, part entertainer. While Funny Bingo handles the number announcements automatically with voice calling, the human host's commentary between calls determines the energy of the room. Here's a script to guide you.
Opening the Night
"Good evening everyone, and welcome to [Event Name] Bingo Night! I'm your host for tonight. We have [X] rounds of bingo lined up, with prizes for every winner. Our jackpot round is Blackout — and that prize is... [reveal prize]. Let's start with a practice round so everyone gets comfortable. Here we go!"
During Calls (Between Numbers)
- "Eyes down, looking!" — classic call to signal a new number is coming
- "Here comes number [X]..." — pause for dramatic effect before the reveal
- "And that's our [20th] ball of the night!" — keep count updates frequent
- "Someone must be getting very close now..." — after 30+ balls
- "One away? Two away? The tension is incredible!" — as you approach typical win points
When Someone Calls BINGO
"We have a caller! Eyes on your cards everyone — let's verify... [check against master board]... That's a valid BINGO! Congratulations to [name]! Come collect your prize!"
If a BINGO is Invalid
"Let's check that card... [pause]... I'm afraid that's not quite right — [number X] hasn't been called yet. We continue playing! Eyes down, looking!"
Between Rounds
- "Excellent round everyone! Our next pattern is [name] — let me show you on screen..."
- "Take a short break, grab a drink — we restart in two minutes!"
- "Halfway through tonight's games! Our jackpot Blackout round is coming up — stay focused!"
Closing the Night
"That brings us to the end of tonight's Bingo Night! A huge thank you to all our players. Our overall winner tonight with [X] wins is [name]! Safe travels everyone, and we'll see you next time!"
