How to Set Up a Home Bingo Hall: Room Layout and Equipment
Running bingo at home is increasingly popular, and with a little planning, your living room or garage can rival any community hall experience. Here's how to set it up properly.
The Caller Station
Your caller station is the command center. You need:
- A laptop or tablet running Funny Bingo
- A TV or monitor to display the game (HDMI cable or screen mirroring)
- A Bluetooth speaker for voice call amplification
- A stable table positioned at the front of the room
Seating Layout
Arrange seating so every player has a clear line of sight to the screen. For 10–20 players in a living room:
- Push sofas and chairs into a U-shape facing the TV
- Add folding chairs and small tables for card placement
- Ensure enough table space for each player's cards and daubers
Lighting
- Dim overhead lights slightly for atmosphere
- Ensure enough light for players to see their cards clearly
- Add string lights or colored bulbs for a festive feel
- Never make the room so dark that reading cards is difficult
Sound
- Funny Bingo's voice caller should be audible to all players — test volume before guests arrive
- Play background music at low volume between rounds
- A portable PA speaker works well for groups over 15 people
Refreshments
- Set up a drinks station away from playing tables to avoid spills
- Serve finger foods that don't require utensils
- Keep napkins available
Equipment Shopping List
- HDMI cable (if not using wireless)
- Bluetooth speaker
- Folding tables and chairs (rent if needed)
- Daubers or markers (if using printed cards)
- Printed bingo cards or QR code display setup
- Prize display table and wrapping
